Guide to Nungwi  : Nungwi Beach is the prettiest and the most popular beach in Zanzibar Island, Nungwi Beach is also one of the best beaches for 2018 by CNN. The beach is situated on the East Coast of Africa, Zanzibar and is situated at the north-western tip of the Island.

Nungwi Beach is a home to beautiful powdery white sand, crystal blue waters and exotic flora and fauna, the beach attracts a lot of tourists all year around and most of the establishments and businesses stay open through all the seasons of the year. Nungwi beach is a unique beach from other beaches situated on Zanzibar Island, the island have no big tidal effect which allows visitors to swim at any hour of the day. Another amazing fact about Nungwi beach is that accommodations (lodges and beach resorts) on this beach give tourists the ability to try different restaurants, bars, beaches and activities as opposed to other beaches in Zanzibar Island which have all-inclusive hotels which restrain all visitors to stay within the hotel and its beach.

ATTRACTIONS

On top of relaxing at the beach which a great retreat, Nungwi Beach has so many things to do during your vacation. It is safe to walk around the Nungwi village and during the low tide you can even visit Kendaw beach on foot which is located 20 minutes walk along the beach.

Snorkeling or diving

Snorkeling and diving are fascinating water activities to during your vacation to Nungwi Beach, Mnemba Atoll is a famous marine park in Zanzibar Island and it is situated just a boat ride from Nungwi. Mnemba Atoll hosts a rich variety of aquatic life and is where snorkeling and diving are mostly done.

During snorkeling or diving you get to encounter dolphins and other sea creatures.

 The fish market

Visiting the fish market is a thrilling experience with numerous moments worth capturing on camera, normally the local fishermen leave for their usual night fishing around 4 pm thus dotting the horizon with tens of dhows and their white-sails which is a sight see.

In the next morning at around 07:00 pm, the fishermen are back with catch of all shapes and sizes. In the fish market you will be able to see sea fish and various sea creatures you have never seen before and watch the locals as bid for the best catch.
